ST. CLOUD — It’s (un)officially fall, if menus at any coffee shops are any indication.
Starbucks rolled out pumpkin spice lattes on Aug. 22. However, Scooter’s Coffee beat Starbucks to the punch, releasing its pumpkin flavors on Aug. 19.
Caribou Coffee planned to roll out its apple and pumpkin flavor beverages on Thursday, Aug. 29.

The pumpkin spice craze started in 2003 when the pumpkin drink first debuted on the Starbucks menu.
Speaking of Scooter’s, construction crews have started to work on land that will house Scooter’s Coffee on Benton Drive in Sauk Rapids.
It’s a project that has been in the works since last year.
Scooter’s Coffee has more than 800 locations in the country and two locally with one at 3203 Division St. in St. Cloud and one at 233 Pine Cone Road S. in Sartell. The Sauk Rapids location’s opening date is unknown.
St. Cloud Batteries Plus recently celebrated its 30 years of business.
The retail chain has more than 600 outlets and sells and recycles batteries of varying sizes and uses, including watches, electronics, cellphones, cameras and cars.

Batteries Plus has two locations in the area: 2710 Second St. S. in St. Cloud and 27 N. Benton Drive in Sauk Rapids.
White Peony Boutique is hosting a back-to-school fashion show with motivational speakers, vendors, appetizers and desserts, a cash bar, a DJ and a runway show.
The event will be 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 8, at Gorecki Center at the College of St. Benedict, 37 S. College Ave. in St. Joseph. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with shopping from 1 to 2:30 p.m.

Chelsea Jacobson has been announced as branch manager of St. Cloud Financial Credit Union’s flagship St. Cloud location, according to a news release.
She will replace Diana Van Heuveln, who was previously announced as the director of human resources and organizational development.
Jacobson has more than five years of experience managing credit union branches, according to the release. Jacobson graduated from St. Cloud State University and has served as a Rotarian for the Great River Rotary of Sauk Rapids-Sartell.

St. Cloud Financial Credit Union is at 3030 First St. S. in St. Cloud. The financial institution has additional locations in Albertville, Becker, Sartell and Sauk Rapids.
Meagan Hegland was promoted to vice president of sales and marketing at Park Industries, according to a news release.
Hegland will continue to lead the company’s sales team, remaining focused on sales strategy and assume the responsibility of overseeing the marketing department, according to the release. Hegland joined Park Industries as a national sales manager in 2021.
