Cuonzo Martin will make his first official return to the Missouri State basketball sideline when the 2024-25 season tips off on Monday evening in Indianapolis.
Missouri State will open its season at Butler when the two tip off at 5:45 p.m. at Hinkle Fieldhouse. The game will be televised nationally on Fox Sports 1.
The Bears are coming off a 17-16 season that resulted in the firing of former head coach Dana Ford. The school hired Martin, who served as MSU’s coach from 2008-11, who spent the last two years out of coaching after being fired at Missouri. Martin has 15 newcomers on the roster.
Butler went 18-15 last season, including a 9-11 finish in Big East play. The Bulldogs are coached by Thad Matta, who is in his second stint with the program after head coaching stops at Xavier and Ohio State.

Missouri State vs. Butler will be broadcast nationally on Fox Sports 1 as part of the network’s ” whip-around coverage,” meaning it will cut into multiple games throughout opening night. You can watch the FS1 coverage on FUBO, which offers a free trial to new subscribers.

Butler went 18-15 last season, including 9-11 in Big East Conference competition. They qualified for the NIT but lost in the first round 73-72 to Minnesota.
