Union University hosted their annual 2025 sports hall of fame banquet. This year their
were five inductees. Janey Berends who made history being the first ever women’s cross country
runner in the hall of fame. Then it was Barry Bishop who played baseball and was apart of the 1983 team that
finished third in the NAIA world series Next up Rick Rudesill a basketball player who scored 1,508 career points and set the
record for most three pointers in a season with 94. Then we have Jeff Wyatt who was named an NAIA All American and last but certainly not least Lavanda
Ross the basketball player who was the NAIA national player of the year in 2012 and a three time all American. We were able to catch up with Mrs Ross before
the ceremony and she spoke about the moment she found out she was getting inducted and her advice to other athletes take a listen.
