Birmingham’s very own Lakeshore Foundation will soon welcome some new members to its ranks.
The U.S. Paralympic Powerlifting team will join the Lakeshore National Adapted Sports Organization.
The announcement was made on Thursday morning.

Lakeshore Foundation officials say the new partnership will provide para powerlifting athletes with more dedicated staff, cutting-edge technology, and even better facilities as preparations continue for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
“The addition of U.S. Para Powerlifting to the Lakeshore National Adapted Sports Organization marks a pivotal milestone in Lakeshore’s continued evolution as a leader in Para sports,” said Lakeshore Foundation President and CEO John D. Kemp.

At the start of the new year, the U.S. Paralympic Powerlifting team will officially partner with LNASO, joining USA Wheelchair Rugby and Boccia United States.
