Hollywood Reporter broke the news that David Krumholtz and Emily Beecham have joined the cast of Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, directed by Craig Gillespie for Warner Bros. Discovery arm DC Studios. The two will reportedly play parents of Supergirl, played by Milly Alcock (House of the Dragon).
The report says that filming began this week in the UK.
NHL fans have the chance to celebrate the top-performing players of 2024 with the Team of the Year (TOTY) campaign by EA Sports NHL 25. The campaign will feature a total of 30 nominees from the NHL and PWHL, according to EA in a news release.
EA also released its latest round of nominees on January 17: the forwards.

Captain America: Brave New World hits theaters on February 14.
The DLC gameplay trailer gives Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns players a look at Conan the Barbarian, using the likeness of the 1982 film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Born on a battlefield, Conan has become one of the most formidable warriors the world has ever seen through relentless toil and kombat. Sold into slavery after his parents are slain and village destroyed by the malevolent warlord Thulsa Doom, he is eventually freed by his master and embarks on a quest for vengeance, his journey culminating in the defeat of Doom, liberating thousands from his sorcerous grip. In Mortal Kombat 1, Conan stands ready to defend Earthrealm against the vile beings that mean to conquer it.
Conan’s distinct yet devastating moveset is on full display in the new trailer and is built around his iconic Atlantean Sword. The master blade-wielder can perform complex maneuvers with the imposing steel weapon, including his intricate sword spinning and signature overhead chop to take down opponents with brute force. The video also reveals one of Conan’s gruesome Fatalities and teases the fighter’s Animality, the brutal finishing move that morphs the character into a powerful bull to annihilate defeated opponents.
The new fighter will be available starting on January 21 as part of the early access period for Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns Expansion owners, followed by wide availability for purchase on January 28, according to a news release. The release also says that fan-favorite Animalities were added as a a free content update for for all Mortal Kombat 1 owners.
Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma will release on May 30 on the Nintendo Switch and Windows PC via Steam. Developer Marvelous released the gameplay trailer along with the release date.
The Steam description reads: “Welcome to the eastern nation of Azuma! In this fresh take on Rune Factory, use your powers as an Earth Dancer to restore the land, its people, and even its gods. Along the way, battle corrupted monsters, rebuild seasonal farms and villages, and form bonds with the colorful locals.”
Pre-orders for the Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma Limited Edition are now available and include a custom outer box and includes a physical copy of the game, an original soundtrack CD, an art book, an Azuma-inspired folding fan, the “Seasons of Love” DLC bundle, additional DLC costumes for your protagonists and their divine sidekick Woolby, and a plush Woolby keychain, according to a news release.
There will be a livestream on January 22 at 10 a.m. CST (16:00 GMT/ 17:00 CEST) on the Marvelous Europe YouTube channel.
‘Bleach Rebirth of Souls’ System Over View Trailer
We got a look at the game’s battle system and game modes for Bleach Rebirth of Souls, which developers describe as a narrative-driven anime brawler.
New actions, move sets and combos were showcased in the trailer and described by developers in a news release, including:
Reverse Actions: Heat up the battle with Reverse Actions, powerful moves unleashed by drawing from the character’s Konpaku.
Chain Reverse: Follow up attacks seamlessly and connect this move with active combos for additional damage.
Burst Reverse: Stop the opponent’s momentum by using this technique which knocks back opponents and interrupts their attacks.
Kikon Move: Inflict enough damage to unlock the powerful Kikon Move, capable of destroying the opponent’s Konpaku.
Awakening: Turn the tide of battle with Fighting Spirit, an energy that accumulates as the battle progresses, to activate the Awakening state which provides players with stat boosts as well as powerful and punishing reversals.
Kikon Channel: Activated by accumulating Fighting Spirit in the Awakened State, Kikon Moves are devastating single strikes executed as a reversal action that can cause a dramatic shift in momentum.
Bleach Rebirth of Souls releases on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam on March 21.
Rebellion dropped the new trailer this week, showing game modes and game features. The events of Sniper Elite: Resistance sit alongside the storyline of Sniper Elite 5, developers said in news release.
Developers are brining back Invasion Mode, newly introducing Propaganda Mode.
The new new game mode lets you play as a Resistance fighter in thrilling quick fire challenges against the clock, and is unlocked by discovering Propaganda posters hidden within the main Campaign. The main campaign is fully playable single player and through online co-op.
For the first time in the series, Harry Hawker takes the role as the lead protagonist. Like his comrade Karl Fairburne (star of the Sniper Elite franchise), Harry is an agent of the Special Operations Executive and an expert marksman. He has been sent deep under cover in occupied France where he fights alongside the Resistance and discovers an insidious new Wunderwaffe that would turn the tide of the war.
Sniper Elite: Resistance releases on January 30 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.
Pre-order bonuses include a new Target Führer campaign mission, an additional weapon skin and the powerful Karabiner 98 Rifle. Pre-ordering the Deluxe Edition will also give players the classic M1911 Pistol and two days early access to the game.
The Sims turn 25 on February 4th and EA is planning a host of ways to celebrate, as revealed in a blogpost:
The 25-hour livestream event on February 4 will include “your favorite Simmers and some special guests you might recognize.”
Free Content Update on February 4 will include 70+ new in-game items to all players, new Create a Sim options with two new hairstyles, baby hairs added to three classic hairstyles, a new Toddler hairstyle, and a goatee. There will also be new Build Buy items, “including stylish windows and doors, and new wood finishes for kitchen cabinets,” EA said, noting there will also be new kids items.
The Blast From the Past Event will include “inspired by iconic items from the 2000s,” with EA revealing items like a milk carton, telephone, alarm clock, triple-tiered birthday cake, and inflatable chair and loveseat.
Among all the excitement, EA also revealed that MySims: Cozy Bundle is releasing on PC on March 18.

Capcom revealed that Mai Shiranui is going to be the second guest character added to Street Fighter 6.
She will join the roster on February 6 with two outfits, one of which is described as “reminiscent of her classic style across SNK’s historic Fatal Fury series,” and the other “will be themed around her newest look in the upcoming Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves,” according to a news release.
