As we prepare to ring in the New Year, and a new president, it’s pertinent to take a look back and reflect on the things that impacted the HVACR industry, politically. For starters, the ongoing transition to lower-GWP refrigerants. Additionally, in June, the Supreme Court overturned a 1984 case throwing out the so-called Chevron Doctrine (which basically means that federal agencies can expect challenges of their rules from those opposing for the foreseeable future). Gas bans also took a hit in 2024 as voters in Chicago, California, and Washington rejected various ballot initiatives that would have banned, or at least restricted, the use of natural gas. But, what’s absolutely certain about the world around us and thus, the industry we serve, is change, and the need for heating and cooling. So, let’s ring in the New Year taking faith not only in the industry we serve, but the world. Happy New Year from us to you.
