Police on Saturday announced that they had arrested a man wanted in connection with at least six business burglaries in Claremont in recent days.
The burglaries happened last at night between Thursday and Saturday, according to the Claremont Police Department. Four of them happened in the 800 and 900 blocks of W. Foothill Boulevard, near Mountain Avenue, while the other two happened in the 700 block of S. Indian Hill Boulevard at San Jose Avenue, police said.
While investigating the incidents, detectives were able to identify the suspect as 30-year-old Covina man Hector Bernal. They were able to locate him at a hotel in Claremont, where he was taken into custody on suspicion of commercial burglary, grand theft, theft with priors and possession of stolen property.
Officers also arrested a 28-year-old Upland woman identified as Alexis Tinoco, who was booked on suspicion of possessing stolen property. They did not say how she was connected to Bernal.
While executing a search warrant at the hotel room where the suspects were found, detectives say they located stolen property that they believed to be connected to the thefts in the previous 48 hours.
Tinoco was released on a written promise to appear in court at a later time, while Bernal was held at the Claremont Police Department Jail, police said.
