Mike Giorgio
Mike Giorgio is the latest general manager at Stowe Mountain Resort.
Most recently, Giorgio led six Midwest resorts in the Vail Resorts portfolio as regional general manager based out of Mt. Brighton Resort in Michigan. He starts his new job Nov. 18.
“Mike’s appointment as the new general manager of Stowe Mountain Resort is a testament to his exceptional leadership,” Tim Baker, senior vice president and COO of Eastern Region Mountain Division, said. “His decades-long hospitality experience and recent role overseeing six of our Midwest resorts demonstrates his vision and capability to lead the Stowe team and make a positive impact on our guests and the community.”
Giorgio began his career with Vail nearly 11 years ago as the executive chef of Mount Snow, where he then spent the next 11 years running its food and beverage operations.
In 2021, he was appointed general manager at Mt. Brighton, and earlier this year was promoted to regional general manager overseeing six Midwest resorts: Mt. Brighton in Michigan, Paoli Peaks in Indiana, Boston Mills Brandywine and Mad River in Ohio, and Alpine Valley in Wisconsin.
“Returning to Vermont, where my journey in the ski industry began, feels like coming full circle. I’m eager to build on Stowe’s reputation as the premier Northeast destination, while respecting and celebrating everything that makes Vermont’s highest peak so special,” Giorgio said.
According to Vail, Giorgio developed high-performing leaders and deep connections with local communities while at the Midwest division, which “led to a transformative guest experience and the revitalization of events for both employee and guests.”
He and his wife, Anna, two sons, and three dogs plan to move back to Vermont. In his spare time, Giorgio enjoys spending time outdoors with his family snowboarding, rock climbing and running.
