Singer Sting has had to cancel several performances, including a highly anticipated appearance at the Bass Magazine Awards, due to illness.
The 73-year-old star took to Instagram to inform his fans about his health situation.
A statement read: “On advisement from his doctor, due to illness, it is with sincere regret that Sting must cancel his appearance at the Bass Magazine Awards this Thursday.” The iconic musician was also set to receive a lifetime achievement award at the California event.

Additionally, Sting announced the postponement of his “STING 3.0 concerts in Phoenix, AZ (originally scheduled for January 24) to June 1 and Wheatland, CA (originally scheduled for January 26) to May 28.”
He has canceled his performance at the Cherrytree Music Company’s 20th anniversary celebration on May 29 as well.Sting’s statement assured fans that their tickets for the postponed shows would be honored at the rescheduled dates and expressed his apologies for any inconvenience caused.
Fans have been sending their best wishes to Sting, with comments like: “You will get better from this Sting, you always have our support and love,” “Omg hope it isnt that bad! stay safe Sting,” and “Wishing you a speedily recovery and lots of healing time with near and dear ones,” reports the Mirror US.
One fan expressed their hope that the previously planned concert would still occur: “Hopefully the LA Fire Aid show is still on. I’d love to hear No Doubt and Sting sing Message In A Bottle in 2025.”
This isn’t the first instance Sting has canceled a show due to health concerns.
Back in 2018, a cold escalated into a severe sinus infection, prompting him to withdraw from a joint performance with Shaggy in San Francisco.
The following year, he was compelled to cancel several European tour dates because of an unspecified illness, which, at the time, a source described as not severe but sufficient for doctors to express concern. “He’s just resting up. Everyone is expecting him to be back up and running very soon. He’ll be going straight into the rest of his scheduled tour dates,” the source elaborated.
Sting’s health challenges seemed to persist, as during a performance last year, he appeared on stage with his arm in a sling, unable to play guitar, yet still managed to captivate the audience with his performance.
