WETHERSFIELD, Conn. (WFSB) – Today’s weather conditions may not have been ideal, but it was perfect for sports lovers who got to sit back and tune in to the television.
UConn basketball and opening day of baseball highlighted today’s action.
NBA, the NCAA tournament, and opening day for baseball all graced the screens at Buffalo Wild Wings.
“No better day than to sit inside and watch sports,” said Stan Pazdziorn, Wethersfield.
While Red Sox fans hope to flip the standings from last year’s American League East last-place finish, UConn fans chanted and cheered their way to an Elite 8 appearance.
“I think they’ll be pretty good. They have a solid roster, but we’ll see. They’ll always compete for the city of Boston,” said Teddy Griffin, Junior, Trinity college.
In the championship rematch, the Huskies dismantled San Diego State as they continued their chase for a championship.
It is no secret the Huskies are a crowd favorite, they’re tournament favorites too!
But not everyone is hoping for a repeat. Some fans are hoping there’s a team out there brave enough to take down a titan of a team.
“I hope UConn loses, to be honest with you,” said Nick Royster, Sophomore, Trinity College.
Nick is a Carolina Tar Heel fan, but still think it’s gonna be tough to dethrone the Huskies.
“I think they’re honestly too good though. I don’t think anyone can beat them,” Royster said.
This is why the Huskies keep dancing, the NBA is in their final push for the playoffs and America’s pastime, now has an entire season to look forward to.
