A judge ordered Steve Bannon, a far-right former adviser to Donald Trump, to begin a four-month prison sentence by July 1st. Mr Bannon was convicted in 2022 of contempt of Congress, having refused to comply with a subpoena issued by a House committee investigating the January 6th riot, a verdict he has spent years challenging. In response to the prison order, Mr Trump called for the indictment of members of the committee.
