(WIFR) – This year sports in the Stateline gave fans an abundance of gifts through sports memories that will last a lifetime.
Below are the 2024 Stateline sports gifts:
Guilford’s flag football team made an unforgettable run, finishing the season with a 21-1 record and as the IHSA runner-up. Head coach Greg Taylor won the coach of the year award while four players received all-state honors.
North Boone’s softball team proved to be a force when the playoffs came around making it all the way to the state final, but had a heartbreaking 1-0 loss. The Vikings return majority of their starters in 2025.
Jahmani Muhammad has been a highlight tape in the making at Harlem, but his biggest highlight of all was breaking the NIC-10’s all-time rushing record in his Senior year homecoming game.
Stockton’s girls volleyball made history making it to their first Sectional, Super-Sectional, and even making it to the state finals, but fell just short finishing in second place. The lady Blackhawks went 38-3 and return some talent in 2025.
Lena-Winslow’s football team is gifted every year, but this year’s team was just different. The Panthers have won four of the last six 1A state championships, but this year they were the state runner-up to Althoff Catholic. However, there is no doubt that head coach Ric Arand will get his Panthers back where they left off next season.
Christian Cummings is the definition of a limitless range shooter. Cummings is the first player in Rockford Christian history to surpass 2,000 career points. As an all-around player, Cummings even has a chance to surpass 3,000 career points.
