After several weather-related delays, the first round of the 2025 girls’ Ripley County Tournament is set for tonight at Milan. Jac-Cen-Del plays Batesville at 6 p.m. followed by the host Indians against South Ripley. WRBI coverage begins at 5:30. Tonight’s winners advance to the championship game, which will be played tomorrow night at 6 at South Ripley as part of a girls’/boys doubleheader. The consolation games have been called off.
The Pacers went on the road and beat Cleveland 108-93 in a game heard last evening on WRBI. Indiana snaps the Cavaliers’ 12-game winning streak. The Pacers have won sixth straight and improve to 22-18. Indiana is also the first team to hold the Cavs to under 100 points this season. Cleveland loses for just the fifth time this year.
In college basketball yesterday, 20th-ranked Purdue routed Nebraska 104-68. The Boilermakers go to 13-4 overall and 5-1 in the Big Ten.
In the NFL Wild Card playoffs on Sunday, Buffalo rolled over Denver 31-7, Philadelphia beat Green Bay 22-10, and a field goal as time expired lifted Washington past Tampa Bay 23-20. Coming up tonight, Minnesota faces the Los Angeles Rams. That game was moved from LA to Glendale, Arizona because of the Southern California wildfires.
