Southern Charm star Madison LeCroy opened up for the first time about husband Brett Randle's thyroid cancer diagnosis and recovery battle on the Bravo series' Dec. 12 episode.
Madison LeCroy is getting candid about husband Brett Randle's recent health struggles.
The Southern Charm star emotionally shared with fans Brett's battle with thyroid cancer during the Bravo series' Dec. 12 episode.
"Unfortunately, Brett was diagnosed with thyroid cancer toward the end of last year around our one-year wedding anniversary," the 34-year-old said in a confessional. "I thought, 'Like, how? I'm finally happy.' It's just scary."
Despite Brett insisting he feels "pretty good" after surgery, he revealed there's still more care needed post-op as he continued to struggle swallowing.
"I have to go see a specialist for it," he updated his wife. "It's like two stages. I gotta go see an ENT for it and then probably have to do some type of therapy or something."
Brett added that swallowing feels "like a marble that's stuck there."
"It's alright," the firefighter added with a smile, "I'm getting used to it."
A sympathetic Madison replied, "We'll get you fixed."
Though Brett remains positive, Madison has been reeling from the experience.
"I'm thankful that Brett was able to go in and they removed a three centimeter nodule," she noted in a confessional. "So, the cancer is gone, but now he's having complications. I feel like we can't catch a f–king break."
As for how Madison's 11-year-old son Hudson—who she shares with ex John Hughes—handled his stepdad's health issues?
"I told Hudson that Brett was sick, but I didn't go into detail about what cancer can do to someone," Madison explained in a confessional. "And I try not to let Hudson see me emotional because I have to be strong for my family."
And though Brett's health is on the upswing, Madison still has her bad days.
"Some days I just want to, like, scream," she admitted. "It can be anything that triggers me, whether that be someone saying, 'When are you having a child?' I mean, we were just kind of starting to plan. But that's on pause for now."
See Madison and Brett's journey continue when Southern Charm airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. on Bravo.

Jarrett "JT" Thomas
JT continues to be an outspoken rabble-rouser, stirring up controversy wherever he goes. Despite his best intentions, his rapport with many in the group starts to go up in flames. However, Venita turns out to be his constant and offers a shoulder to lean on as he tries to mend friendships.
Shep Rose
After Shep’s declaration to change at the end of last season, he attended an ayahuasca retreat in Costa Rica and is now determined to make real growth. He has even fallen head-over-heels in love with the former Miss Bahamas, but the group questions if she feels the same way about him.

Leva Bonaparte
Leva continues to be a sounding board for her friends and isn’t afraid to call out their bad behavior when they step out of line.
Taylor Ann Green
Taylor has moved on from her relationship with Shep, last year’s drama with Austen and is unapologetically in love with her new boyfriend, a Charleston mainstay whom everyone has an opinion. She’s dedicated to setting boundaries – from friendships to past flames – so that nothing can threaten her newfound happiness.
Rodrigo Reyes
Rodrigo finds himself balancing a stable home life with his partner and dealing with the drama of his closest confidantes. He’s unapologetic about giving his opinion and ready to take sides if necessary.

Salley Carson
Salley is the latest to grace Charleston’s vibrant social scene. She’s a bubbly party girl by night and a robotics technician for surgical procedures by day. The debutante is gorgeous, intelligent and independent, and she shares a curiously parallel romantic past with Taylor.
