Goodbye Cleveland, hello Columbus: former U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown and his wife, Connie Schultz, moved to a new house in the suburb of Bexley.
Schultz, a Pulitzer Prize winning journalist and book author, announced the move in a post to her Substack account on Wednesday.
“After last fall’s election, though, Sherrod and I thought it was time for a change. Like so many of you, we are rallying for the work ahead. This move will anchor us,” Schultz wrote.
In November, Democrat Sherrod Brown lost his reelection bid for a fourth term to Republican Bernie Moreno. Brown has yet to announce his next move but he has made it clear he wants to play a vocal role in politics.
Schultz tamped down on speculation that the move to Columbus may be tied to the 2026 election.
“Five of our eight grandchildren live in Columbus. If we live there, we will see them more often, and they will spend more time with visiting cousins,” she wrote. “We love our grandchildren and want to be a bigger part of their lives.”
Also making the move to Bexley are their two dogs, Walter and Franklin.
Schultz teaches at Denison University so the move will significantly cut down her commuting time.
