SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – Congressman Dusty Johnson voted to pass two key bills aimed at what he said will help protect women.
Johnson voted in favor of the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act and the Preventing Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act.
In a statement on Thursday, Johnson said the sports-related bill aims to clarify Title IX protections, while the second measure strengthens immigration laws against offenders.
“House Republicans are getting straight to work on conservative priorities. Protecting women’s sports and ensuring illegal aliens are deported for sex offenses and domestic violence offenses are no-brainers. We have to ensure the safety of American children, families, and communities,” Rep. Johnson explained.
Johnson also voted to pass both bills when they passed the House last Congress.
