This is the first time Edinboro women's basketball has beaten Gannon since Feb. 5, 2020. Sims averaged 16.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 1.0 assists per contest. Against No. 9 Gannon, Sims poured in 22 points including eight in the Scots 15-0 run early in the first quarter that gave Edinboro a lead they never relinquished. Sims also did work at the defensive end blocking three Gannon shots. Against UPJ, Sims notched 10 points, three rebounds and four steals in just over 24 minutes of work. Her four steals helped the Edinboro defense to hold the Mountain Cats to 36 points.<br>Mia Kalich averaged a double double of 17 points and 20.5 rebounds in a pair of Griffin PSAC West victories. Mia also added 7 steals, 6 assists and 4 blocks. Kalich had 14 points and a season high 23 rebounds in the win over Clarion and 20 points and 18 rebounds in the win over CalU. Mia has eight double doubles on the season. <br>On the week, Emily Chmiel averaged 29 points, 15.5 rebounds, two blocks, 1.5 assists, and a steal while shooting 48% from the floor. Chmiel had back-to-back 20-point, 15-rebound double-double performances. Her best game came against Lock Haven, which entered the game as the top team in the PSAC East. In that game, Chmiel scored a PSAC season-high 37 points and grabbed 15 rebounds on 61.9% shooting. ESU never trailed and held the lead for all but five seconds.<br>Sarah Hortin was the defensive standout for the Mountaineers en route to two crucial PSAC victories in a dominant 72-42 victory over Shepherd and a last minute 71-70 thriller versus Shippensburg. The senior racked up seven blocks and four steals on the week. The forward reached new career game highs of four blocks against Shepherd and four steals against Shippensburg, while picking up 23 rebounds, including 16 defensive boards. Her 14 points and 14 rebounds performance versus the Rams earns her her second double-double of the season. The Warriors handed division-leading West Chester its first conference loss, 77-68, with Lakeem scoring 24 points, hauling in 11 boards, and adding five steals and two blocks in that contest. He tallied double-doubles in both of the week's games and ranks third in the conference in scoring, seventh in field goal percentage, and seventh in steals -- all without ranking in the top 25 in total minutes played.<br /> <br>Young averaged 6.5 rebounds, 3.5 steals and 1.5 blocks in games last week against West Chester and Lock Haven. He shot 66.7 percent from the floor and posted three blocks and four steals against then-undefeated PSAC East-leading WCU, then added three steals against Lock Haven. He leads the league in total steals and steals per game and entered the weekend ranked fourth nationally in total steals and sixth in steals per game.<br>Polak averaged 26.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game, as the Vulcans earned a pair of victories in PSAC West play last week. He shot 59.3 percent (16-of-27) from the floor, including 8-of-16 (50.0 percent) from long range, and a perfect 1.000 percent (12-of-12) from the free-throw line while playing 36.0 minutes per game. Polak tied his career high with 27 points on 8-of-13 shooting, including four-of-seven from beyond the arc, on Wednesday in a 94-63 victory over Slippery Rock. The Steel Valley product also tallied five rebounds, four assists and one steal against The Rock, which entered play on a seven-game winning streak. On Saturday, Polak finished with 25 points, eight rebounds, six assists, two blocks and two steals in an 81-73 win at Seton Hill. He shot 8-of-14 from the floor behind four-of-nine from three-point territory while registering his seventh 20-point game of the season.<br>Gannon won twice this week on the road to extend its winning streak to 14 games. Shelton had a career-high 29 points at IUP then was a key player in a 30-1 rally to end the game at Edinboro. Gannon trailed by 21 points late in the first half and still trailed 83-70 with 6:42 remaining. Gannon won 100-84, scoring 17 points in a row to take the lead, then after Edinboro made a free throw, scored the final 13 points. Shelton gave Gannon the lead for good with two FTs at 3:01 and had seven points in the run.<br>Alexander averaged 10.0 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game last week, as California won back-to-back games in PSAC West play. He established a career-high with five blocks and added 11 rebounds on Wednesday in a 94-63 win against Slippery Rock. Alexander helped anchor a defensive effort that limited The Rock to only 17 points in the first half after The Rock entered play on a seven-game winning streak. The Indiana native then tallied eight points, nine rebounds, one block and two steals in an 81-73 win at Seton Hill on Saturday.<br /> <br>Against Shippensburg, Innis was a member of two first-place relay teams the 200 medley and 200 freestyle. He swam a personal best split in the 200 free relay of 20.90. He also placed first in the 100-butterfly in a time of 52.55. Innis placed first in the 100-backstroke (54.97), 100-freestyle (50.61), 100-butterfly (54.48) against Allegheny.<br>McIntyre fought to three falls in all three of his bouts at the two-day Virginia Duals.
