Prince William was supposed to visit a military regiment on Thursday (January 16), when he was suddenly forced to cancel the outing.
According to People, the beloved royal holds a "prestigious role" in the regiment and was looking forward to speaking with servicemen and their families in Wattisham, Suffolk. The Prince of Wales was instructed to cancel the "major" engagement last minute due to the weather as the "poor conditions" would have "significantly restricted the planned program."
Buckingham Palace released a statement on the Prince’s behalf, revealing that he hoped to reschedule the visit "at the earliest convenience."
"The Prince of Wales sends his sincere apologies to those who he had been due to meet and hopes to reschedule his visit at the earliest convenience."
News of the cancelation arrives on the heels of Kate Middleton‘s cancer remission. The Princess of Wales recently visited the Royal Marsden Hospital (where she was treated last year) to sit with patients undergoing chemotherapy. In a post shared to X, the beloved royal revealed that her cancer was officially in remission and thanked the hospital for their care and advice amid her attempt to heal.
A rescheduled date for Prince William’s visit to Wattisham has yet to be set.
