SURPRISE, AZ (AZFamily) — A man faces a murder charge after reportedly stabbing another man to death during a fight at a Surprise shopping plaza on Friday afternoon.
Around 2:30 p.m., Surprise Police were called to a stabbing at the parking lot of Fuzzy’s Sports Grill near Reems Road and Grand Avenue.
Officers arrived to find the suspect, 33-year-old Daniel Nassar, being restrained by bystanders. The witnesses told police that they helped stop a fight between Nassar and 29-year-old Logan Metcalf.
Metcalf was taken to the hospital with stab wounds, where he died.
Police say Nassar and Metcalf had a history of conflicts. According to police, witnesses said that Nassar and Metcalf were talking inside a vehicle in the parking lot before the fight escalated.
Police detained Nassar at the scene. He was booked into jail and faces a second-degree murder charge.
