Hilton’s call to action is fueled by empathy and a personal connection to the disaster. She wrote: “As a mum, I can’t imagine the pain and fear of not having a safe place for your babies so I’m launching an emergency fund through my nonprofit 11:11 Media Impact to support displaced families with young children. I’m starting with a personal contribution of 100,000 dollars, and will be matching additional dollars raised up to 100,000 dollars more. I am looking for others to donate and match alongside me to do our part.”
Hilton recounted her harrowing experience after returning to the ashes of what was once her house in Malibu.Hilton’s home was ravaged by the Pacific Palisades fire that broke out on Tuesday and has destroyed over 21,000 acres, making it the largest fire devastating Los Angeles. To help those affected, she announced that donations will be used to provide temporary housing, cash assistance, and essentials to evacuation centers, as well as support for local animal shelters.
This comes after Hilton visited the site of her destroyed home, where she had created cherished memories with her children and husband. “The heartbreak is truly indescribable,” she expressed on Instagram.
Thousands of firefighters have been battling the wind-driven fires in California, which have claimed at least 11 lives, devastated communities, and forced thousands to flee.
Actress Jennifer Garner joined relief efforts, volunteering with World Central Kitchen to provide food for evacuees and first responders. During an emotional interview with MSNBC, Garner shared that she had lost a friend in the fire, saying: “I did lose a friend, and for our church it’s really tender, so I don’t feel like I should talk about her yet. I did lose a friend who did not get out in time.”
She went on to say: “My heart bleeds for my friends. There are 5,000 homes lost, I can write out a list of 100 friends who lost their homes. I feel almost guilty walking through my house, what can I do, how can I help, what can I offer?”
Meanwhile, numerous Hollywood celebrities utilized their platforms to share links to evacuation resources and donation pages, as well as spotlighting the efforts of firefighters and aid organizations. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex visited a meal distribution site for those impacted by the wildfires, where they were seen embracing individuals and conversing with emergency personnel.

Following the Kenneth fire which reportedly led to members of the Kardashian family evacuating their Calabasas and Hidden Hills homes, Kris Jenner revealed that her family reached out to their favorite Armenian restaurant to “feed a few fire houses.”
“They whipped up hundreds of individual meals for so many firefighters, volunteers, first responders, and we could not be more thankful. Kim Kardashian, her daughter, also mentioned that she made donations to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, which provides “critical resources to the heroic first responders protecting our city”, and also made a “sizeable donation of underwear, clothing, and socks to Baby2Baby to help those displaced by the fires.”
LiveNation, an entertainment company, announced a charity concert titled FireAid, set to take place at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles. The event is “dedicated to rebuilding communities devastated by wildfires and supporting efforts to prevent future fire disasters throughout Southern California.”
The concert, described as an “evening of music and solidarity,” is scheduled for January 30, with performers yet to be announced.

Miles Teller’s wife, Keleigh Sperry, also confirmed that they lost their home to the Palisades blaze, expressing regret that she didn’t manage to save her wedding dress during the mass evacuation.
TV presenter Melissa Rivers told CNN that she was able to rescue the Emmy awarded to her late mother, comedian and actress Joan Rivers, while escaping from her house. The fires have caused chaos in Hollywood’s awards season, leading to the rescheduling of events such as the Critics Choice Awards and the Oscar nominations.
