Norman P. Thomas Jr.
Norman P. Thomas Jr. 69, of Sloan, NY, formerly of Fredonia, NY, died Tuesday December 24, 2024 at Brothers of Mercy in Clarence, NY. Norman was born September 5, 1955 at Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk, son of the late Norman P. Thomas, Sr. and Rose Marie (Cerrie) Thomas.
He is survived by his siblings: Maureen (Sam) Marrogy of Oak Park, Michigan, Brother Kenneth A. Thomas FMMA, of Brothers of Mercy Clarence, NY and Brian D. Thomas, of Fredonia, NY; nieces and nephews: Jennifer (Michael A.) Billi, Freeport, FL, Stephen (Michelle) Scrivani, of Tonawanda, NY, Nicholas Marrogy, of Oak Park, MI; and Kathryn (Kevin) Decker, of Mount Holly, NC; a great-neice and great-nephews: Michael J. (Taliyah) Billi, of San Diego, CA; Alexis Billi, of Freeport, FL, Anthony Scrivani, of Tonawanda, NY, and Jospeh and James Decker, of Mount Holly, NC; brother-in-law, Frank Scrivani, of Kenmore; and numerous cousins and other extended family members.
Norman is predeceased by his paternal grand- parents, Joseph and Anna (Scholtes) Thomas and his maternal grandparents, Benjamin and Dorothy (Nagro) Cerrie; and his sister, Jo Ann (Thomas) Scirvani, who passed away June of 2023.
Norman graduated from St. Jospeh School and Cardinal Mindszenty High School, Class of 1974. While attending Cardinal Mindszenty High School he played football, ran track and cross country and played freshman basketball. He attended ECC City and Fredonia State College. A physical therapist assistant, Norman worked Brooks Memorial Hospital for 36 years and also Fredonia Place and Idlewood Manor in West Seneca, NY.
He held numerous memberships in the community and had many interests.
Norman was a member of the Moniuszko Club and the Beaver Club. Past member of Lakeside Club, Eagles Club, Kosciuszko Club, Knights of Colombus Fredonia Council, Darwin Health Club, Fredonia Fire Department and Hose 4 – Dunkirk, NY, where he marched in the Drum Corp. and the Sons of American Legion Fredonia Memorial Post # 59.
An avid sports fan, he enjoyed fantasy football, was a big supporter of local high school sports and Little League baseball. Norman enjoyed professional sports and college sports as well. He was a fan of the Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Sabres, Cleveland Browns, New York Yankees, Los Angeles Lakers and the old Buffalo Braves. Also, Notre Dame football and basketball and UCLA football and basketball. He played midget league football, Little League baseball, and Fredonia Babe Ruth baseball. Norman played in the Dunkirk City league basketball, slow-pitch and fast pitched softball and Fredonia slow pitch and modified softball.
He enjoyed going to local casinos with family and friends, playing bingo and traveling to Las Vegas.

Friends may call at the LARSON-TIMKO Funeral Home, 20 Central Ave., Fredonia Friday July 18, 2025 from 3-7 pm, where a prayer service will be held at 6:30 pm.
