SEATTLE, Wash. — Seattle Mariners President of Business Operations Kevin Martinez announced today the launch of the ROOT SPORTS Stream app. ROOT SPORTS Stream is the direct-to-consumer and TV Everywhere streaming app providing sports fans in the Northwest access to all ROOT SPORTS programming, including Mariners games, and other Mariners-related content, with no blackouts and no cable or satellite subscription or contract required.
Fans who already have ROOT SPORTS through a participating cable, satellite or streaming provider will be able to authenticate into the new ROOT SPORTS Stream app to access the content at no extra cost.
“Our goal is to connect fans to Mariners baseball in as many ways as possible,” Martinez said. “The new ROOT SPORTS Stream app is an excellent complement to the existing, valuable partnerships ROOT SPORTS has with TV providers to bring Mariners baseball to all fans in the Pacific Northwest.”
With the new ROOT SPORTS Stream app fans can see Mariners Baseball and all ROOT SPORTS programming live. The ROOT SPORTS Stream app is available to fans living in the Mariners television territory as defined by Major League Baseball, including Washington, Oregon, Montana, Alaska, and portions of Idaho.
“We know fans are eagerly anticipating Mariners Opening Day and we are thrilled to offer them another way to access ROOT SPORTS,” stated Sabrina Taylor, Vice President of Affiliate & RSN Operations at ROOT SPORTS. “ROOT SPORTS Stream includes new features and a refreshed interface that will appeal to both existing TV Everywhere users as well as new direct-to-consumer subscribers.”
ROOT SPORTS Stream is available via web browser at RootSportsStream.com, as well as on mobile/tablet devices and connected TV platforms including iOS, Android, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, and Roku. The ROOT SPORTS Stream app is powered by global streaming leader ViewLift.
The ROOT SPORTS Stream app is available now. Fans can sign-up at Mariners.com/stream. The Stream app is available for $19.99 per month with no long-term commitment.
