North Allegheny traveled to Butler High School on Monday afternoon to take part in the second day of the Holiday Bash. After defeating Bishop Canevin on Saturday, the Tigers drew Sewickley Academy on Monday. NA fell to the Panthers by a score of 44-37 in non-section action.
It was a cold shooting first half for North Allegheny as they only hit four field goals in the first 16 minutes and trailed 24-10 at halftime. The Tigers made the necessary adjustments in the second half and started to make their push. They were able to trim the lead to five at one point in the second half but could never get closer than that as they ultimately fell 44-37.
Jon Jubeck led North Allegheny with 14 points. Carter Melzer and Justin Stalter each had 10 points.
North Allegheny falls to 5-4 overall. Sewickley Academy improves to 7-1 overall. The Tigers return to action on Friday when they resume section play against Fox Chapel at UPMC Court at 7:45 p.m. This game will be broadcast on the North Allegheny Sports Network.
