Most Thais expect the country’s political turmoil to continue or worsen this year as Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra holds to her power, according to an opinion poll.
About 50.6% respondents said they see political tensions staying at current levels in 2025, according to the Dec. 16-18 survey by the National Institute of Development Administration, known as Nida. About 40% expected the situation to worsen. The poll involved 1,310 Thais aged 18 and above and has a margin of error of 3%, Nida said.
