TOLEDO — The first ever boy was selected to be Toledo’s 2025 Kid Mayor this week: Dashiell “Dash” Harden.
Harden is a student from Monac Elementary and gains the title as the first boy to take the position. He was selected following an interview process involving hundreds of other applicants. In a press release, the city said Harden stood out for his clever answers, confident presentation and for even wearing a suit.
In his position, Harden will lead the 2025 Kid Council, which consists of 12 other students from Washington Local and Toledo Public Schools.

During the year, Harden and the council will meet with city officialsm present community-improvement ideas and attend special events. They will also participate in community project, such as joining the Litter League to help clean the city.
This is the Kid Mayor program’s fourth year. Previous mayors include Evelyn Bush, Gabrielle Mukiira and Lillian Joseph.
