Kenedy Massie and Alvin Lady Yellowjackets’ senior outside hitter Brooklynn Morris both earned honorable mention nods on the Blue Bell/Texas Sportswriters’ Association’s Class 6A All-State Volleyball team.
Massie dished out 1,054 assists along with 127 kills, 46 aces, 34 blocks, and 309 digs. The Prairie View A&M commit, who also made the TGCA All-State list recently, also gained 5A all-state HM honors as a sophomore in 2022.
Morris collected 256 kills, 31 blocks, 321 digs, 35 aces and 407 receptions.
Division I state champion Grand Oaks swept the individual awards. Outside hitter Samara Coleman earned player of the year honors and Morgan Rogers was tabbed as the state’s coach of the year.
Selections were made by TSWA members based on nominations from coaches and media members from around the state.
