COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – March Madness tips off Thursday, and with all that basketball, comes a lot of sports betting. The American Gaming Association estimates Americans will wager over $3 billion in total this year on the tournaments.
”I like college basketball like March Madness is the one where I put the most money down for sure,” UCCS student Easton Wilson said.
In January alone the state got a record-breaking over $4 million in revenue from sports betting.
That money mostly goes to various water projects across the state. With the uptick in gambling expected Amanda Quintana with the Colorado lottery says its important to keep your limits in check.
“One of the biggest things is setting a budget for your time and money spent gambling really just identifying how much money you have that you wanna put aside to it how much time you gonna put aside to it,” Quintana said.
