Chief Executive Officer and Owner
Spector Companies
As chief executive officer and owner of Spector Companies, Marc Spector leads a diverse team of professionals in the firm’s Woodbury headquarters and across the country and the world. Moving the practice of architecture beyond traditional boundaries and market competition, Spector’s influential business model is built on the creation of impactful life spaces regardless of project constraints and typology, cultivation of client and team relationships into friendships, growth in new markets and services, and continual advancement of design innovation hand-in-hand with profitable business practices.
Spector advances the creative and technical strategies in the various practices the firm has built over its 60-year journey. He has been instrumental in shaping a portfolio of distinguished projects, including Station Yards in Ronkonkoma, The Shops on Broadway in Hicksville, The Grand at Baldwin in Baldwin, Nassau County Family and Matrimonial Courts in Mineola, Davis S. Mack Center for Training and Intelligence (Nassau County Police Academy) in Uniondale, Dealertrack Technologies Corporate Headquarters Campus in North Hills, Glen Oaks Club in Old Westbury and many others. Sustainability, carbon neutrality, passive and net zero principles of design and construction are now indigenous to the firm’s cultural DNA.
Spector is a member of the American Institute of Architects College of Fellows. The AIA has also presented him with its Lifetime Achievement Award, 150-plus design awards and the Architectural Firm Achievement Award.
Spector holds a Bachelor of Architecture and a Master of Architecture from the University of Michigan. He also completed the Harvard University Graduate School of Design Executive Education Program.
