Botticelli Foods, a growing family-owned maker of Italian sauces and other products, has launched a rebranding, as it moves its Long Island headquarters.
The company, formerly headquartered at its 15,000-square-foot industrial building on 1 acre at 1000 Prime Place in Hauppauge, is relocating to 4,500 square feet of office space at 1895 Walt Whitman Road in Melville.
The move follows the sale of Botticelli Food Service, the company’s distribution arm, to Ferraro Foods last fall. Joseph Asaro, vice president and third-generation owner at Botticelli Foods, said the company no longer needed its distribution operations which precipitated the relocation. Botticelli will be leasing its Hauppauge property to another company.
“Our new headquarters marks an exciting milestone for Botticelli as we position the brand for continued growth and innovation,” Asaro told LIBN. “This move reflects our commitment to enhancing operational excellence while staying true to our authentic Italian heritage. As we look to the future, we’re focused on strengthening our market leadership, driving category innovation, and expanding our reach to bring Botticelli’s premium products to even more households across the U.S. and beyond.”
And while the move to smaller headquarters represents a downsizing of space, the company’s business has been upsizing. Since 2020, the company has increased sales by as much as 400 percent and is one of the fastest-growing pasta sauce brands in the country. Botticelli is a category leader in household penetration growth over the last five years, according to Asaro.
The rebranding, which was combined with the launch of Botticelli’s new national television commercial, includes a new product label that features a black background with gold foil and embossed details, flavor-specific color bands, premium ingredient illustrations and a new “The Art of Italian Flavor” story section. Each jar now also includes an exclusive recipe.
“Our new label design is a tribute to both our Italian heritage and culture while embracing the evolving aesthetic of Italian design that connects deeply with our growing loyal consumer base,” Asaro said.
Founded in 2002 by Joseph Asaro and his son Salvatore, Botticelli began marketing olive oil sourced from the Mediterranean region. Six years later, the company added a variety of pasta sauces, and its product line now includes antipasto and ground coffee. The company owns farms and production facilities in Italy, which allows it to oversee every step in the sauce-making process.
