Some local veterans are gearing up for an exciting winter sports competition as part of the Wounded Warrior athlete training underway at the Saranac Lake Civic Center.

As part of their training, the veterans had the opportunity to practice wheelchair curling, one of the many sports featured at the Invictus Games. This adaptive version of curling offers a unique challenge for athletes with physical injuries, allowing them to compete at a high level of intensity and skill.
A wheelchair curling scrimmage is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Saranac Lake Civic Center, and the public is invited to attend.
