Baseball closes with Sunday win
Cameron Manuel, Will Butts and Mason Campbell combined on a four-hitter as Franklin College won at Asbury on Sunday, 4-1. Andrew Wallace hit a two-run homer for the Grizzlies (5-3), who won two of three games in a Friday-Saturday home series against Hope.
Softball takes half of twinbill
Zoey Kugelman’s sacrifice fly plated Kaylee Stewart in the 10th inning to give Franklin College a 3-2 walk-off win over visiting Kalamazoo on Saturday. Lauren Duncan pitched a complete game for the Grizzlies (3-2), who had dropped the opener by a 5-3 score.
Women’s tennis manages split
Franklin College bounced back from a 6-1 loss to Greenville by beating Principia, 5-2, in Illinois on Saturday. The Grizzlies got singles points from Sofie Ballesteros, Brenna Atchison, Emma Sappenfield and Michiah Draper, adding the doubles point with a 3-0 sweep of those matches.
