Friday just got a whole lot freakier!
Lindsay Lohan finally unveiled the release date of highly-anticipated Freaky Friday sequel, Freakier Friday, and shared the film’s trailer in a new Instagram Post.
The clip opens with Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis‘s characters, Anna and Tess Coleman, speaking to a palm reader who predicts their lines will once again "cross." When things get freaky, just like they did in 2003, more people get involved, and the plot is thicker than ever before. The duo switch bodies with Anna’s daughter and soon-to-be stepdaughter, Harper and Lilly, per USA Today. The foursome goes on an epic adventure and experiences many lessons as viewers are transported 22 years into the past.
The long-awaited film will also feature a few of the same actors that made the original blockbuster the classic it is today including Lucille Soong (who played the mother at the Chinese restaurant who gave them the magic fortune cookies) and Chad Micheal Murray (who played Anna’s crush, motorcycle-riding bad boy Jake in the 2003 score).
Lohan spoke about the film in a November 2024 episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, revealing that it would be "very funny" and that she and Curtis could hardly contain their excitement.
"Jamie and I, even at the table read, we were just smiling so big. I don’t think we were acting well because we were so happy. But, the movie is funny. It’s really funny."
Freakier Friday will hit theaters on August 8th.
