Leon County government is now accepting applications for the second cycle of the 2024-25 Sports Event Grant Program. Applications are due Monday, Jan. 27, 2025, at 5 p.m.
“This opportunity represents the ongoing effort to promote tourism and provide financial support for sporting events that have a history of, or show potential to, attract out-of-town visitors to the area,” a press release said.
Eligible sporting events must take place between Feb. 13, 2025, and Sept. 30, 2025, and are required to comply with Section 125.0104, Florida Statutes with the requirements for the event to be marketed outside the area to generate visitation in order to utilize Tourist Development Tax (TDT) funds.

Event funding requests are evaluated by the anticipated number of hotel room nights/overnight lodging in Leon County generated by the event.
