Have you watched the longest movie ever made?
Timed at exactly 857 hours, it’s certainly a commitment. The film, lasting 35 days and seven hours from start to finish, promises to be unlike any movie you’ve ever seen before.
According to Tour Box, the longest movie of all time is Logistics. Released in 2012, this record-breaking project "retraces the journey of a pedometer, a device used to measure the number of steps taken, from its point of manufacture in China to its final destination in Sweden" in realtime.
Viewers are given a first-person perspective on the lengthy voyage a pedometer makes from its creation in an assembly line to its shelf in a store overseas. Logistics was created to "raise awareness about the global supply chain and the complexities of consumerism" and has been both praised and detested by viewers since its release.
"Some viewers have praised its unique narrative style and its broadening of the definition of cinema. However, others have criticized the film for its slow pace, dull moments, and lack of engaging plot for most of its duration."
Regardless of critique, Tour Box mentioned that the perspective-altering film made it into the International Film Festival in Rotterdam and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
If you can’t free up 35 days to watch the entire movie, there is a YouTube edit that offers a clipped version of the film to give you an idea of its content.
