The Kimberly Papermakers are the 2025 WIAA Girls D1 State Basketball Champions with a 47-26 win over Muskego.
MADISON, Wis. (WKOW) – Kimberly dominates Muskego 47-26 to win a fifth state title as the Papermakers take the WIAA Division 1 State Girls Basketball title Saturday night in Green Bay.
The game started out with a basket by Raegen Krueger and a three by Ava Van Vonderen for a 5-0 Kimberly lead.
In the game, Kimberly led for a total of 33:52.
A couple of free throws by Bree Scafe and layup by Mallory Glysch for Muskego cut it to 5-4 with 8:26 remaining.
The hoop then went cold for the Warriors.
They didn’t score again for nearly eight minutes when Autumn Dibb hit a jumper with 32 seconds left in the half.
The half finished when Dibb hit a floater at the buzzer to make it 15-8 at the break.
The Papermakers built on their lead in the second half behind Van Vonderen and McGinnis.
A Haylie Dulas hoop for Kimberly pushed the score to a 13 point spread at 28-15 with 11:14 left. She’d have a strong second half and finish with 13 points.
A three point basket by Riley Hill at 6:12 cut the lead to nine at 34-25 but the Warriors couldn’t get any closer.
Dulas’ scoring along with Van Vonderen kept moving the score further and further out of reach for Muskego.
Besides Dulas’ 13 points, two other Papermakers scored in double figures. Van Vonderen lead with 15. Raegen Krueger ended the night with 10.
The win is the fifth state title for Kimberly and their first since 1998.
