Justin Baldoni is fighting back against Blake Lively’s claims of sexual harassment on the It Ends With Us with his own lawsuit against the New York Times – which also targets her husband Ryan Reynolds.
Baldoni filed a $250 million libel lawsuit against the publication for its reporting of Lively’s suit she filed against Baldoni, who she claimed engaged in inappropriate behavior on the film’s set and later engaged in a “smear campaign” to destroy her reputation.
The suit saw Baldoni dropped from his agency quickly afterward, and his podcast co-host quit their show.
Now, he is retaliating against the claims, and while his suit is against the Times, it does drag Lively into it by calling out her husband.
In his filing, the actor and director claimed that the Deadpool star “berated” him in an “aggressive” confrontation, saying he “fat-shamed” his wife.In his suit, according to Page Six, Baldoni says the clash occurred at Lively and Reynolds’ New York City penthouse while the film was in production.
He also claimed he apologized profusely at the time.
“The confrontation that followed was so aggressive that Baldoni felt compelled to offer repeated apologies,” his suit claims, adding he “continued to bend to [Lively’s] will” to avoid future conflicts.
The alleged incident of body-shaming took place after Baldoni asked a trainer about Lively’s weight prior to filming a scene with a lift, after she allegedly “refused to perform” the sequence in question.
