Gov. Jeff Landry on Monday announced appointments to five open seats on the Louisiana Board of Ethics.
According to a news release, the new members are:
The board expanded from 11 members to 15 after state lawmakers last year approved changes to the board’s composition.
“These appointments will bring fresh perspectives and create much needed change,” Landry said in a statement. “I look forward to the great work they will do serving our state.”
Under the legislation authorizing the change, the governor was empowered to appoint two additional members.
The state House and state Senate are each permitted to appoint an additional member to the ethics board as well; neither has announced its appointment.
The terms of Sarah Couvillon, Mark Ellis and Rev. Jose Lavastida expired Jan. 1.
