Country music star Jason Aldean has shared his thoughts on performing at Donald Trump‘s inauguration.
The singer, known for his controversial views, was among the performers at the president’s second inauguration on Monday.
Although he didn’t perform at the main event, he took to the stage at the Liberty Ball later that evening, alongside artists such as Snoop Dogg, Nelly, and the Village People. Carrie Underwood, a former American Idol winner, performed in the Capital building during the ceremony.

She delivered an a capella rendition of “America The Beautiful” following some technical difficulties which caused an awkward pause before she began. On Tuesday morning, Aldean appeared on Fox and Friends.
When asked about Underwood’s performance and the technical issues she faced, he said: “First of all its a hard song to do anyway and you know when you’re supposed to be singing to a track, that’s when it gives you pitch reference,” he explained, “When you don’t have that, for her to just say, ‘Alright,’ that’s a big more and a bold move on her part.”Aldean also discussed his experience performing at Trump’s Liberty Ball. “Just a huge honor to be here and to be a part of that night and all the people that were there to support President Trump,” he stated, reports the Mirror US.
Regarding the atmosphere at the event, he added: “It kind of feels electric. I don’t know, everyone just feels excited for this new chapter of where we’re heading.”
While Jason seemed content with his performance, the same couldn’t be said for Carrie.
Despite technical difficulties, the “Before He Cheats” singer was lauded for her vocal prowess.

However, a source told MailOnline that she was far from pleased with how things went down.
“Carrie was dissatisfied with her performance at the event, primarily due to the limited space she was given, which left her feeling cramped and uncomfortable,” they revealed.
“Her anxiety was high throughout the performance, and she felt that she was not afforded the same level of respect or admiration that previous performers, such as Beyoncé and Lady Gaga, had received,” the insider added. “She felt as if she was ushered in and out and had a mini hissy fit afterwards.”
