MINOCQUA, Wis. (WSAW) – Minocqua has been selected as the host site for the International Federation of Sleddog Sports Dryland World Championships.
The sled dog races will be held October 21-28, 2025 at Minocqua Winter Park.
“Choosing Minocqua as the first United States location for these championships is huge for our area,” said Sherry Hulett, Sports & Group Travel Director at the Minocqua Area Visitors Bureau. “We’re so honored to host these athletes and spectators from all over the world and show off the Northwoods as a place whose natural beauty can rival so many stunning international locations.”
While IFSS held the first World Championships on snow in Switzerland in 1990, the dryland races are a more recent addition, originating in Italy in 2002. Until now, the competitions have been held in more distant locales like Spain, Poland, Canada, Germany, Sweden, and Norway.
