Howard University is rescinding Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ honorary degree after a video surfaced showing him allegedly assaulting Cassie Ventura. The university’s board of trustees voted to revoke Combs’ degree, which was originally awarded to him in 2014. “Mr. Combs’ behavior as captured in a recently released video is so fundamentally incompatible with Howard University’s core values and beliefs that he is deemed no longer worthy of holding the institution’s highest honor,” said the university’s board in a statement. The video allegedly shows Combs running out of a hotel room, grabbing Ventura by her neck, throwing her and kicking her. In the statement, the university said it will end a 2016 gift agreement with the music mogul and return his $1 million contribution. They will also disband the scholarship that was established in his name and cancel a 2023 pledge agreement with the Sean Combs Foundation.
