Pamela Anderson isn’t worried about being snubbed for her performance in The Last Showgirl at the 2025 Oscars.
When the nominees for the 97th Academy Awards were revealed this week, many people were surprised to see that Anderson didn’t receive a Best Actress in a Leading Role nomination for her role as Shelly Gardner in The Last Showgirl, per E! News. Actresses who did get the nod include Cynthia Erivo for Wicked, Demi Moore for The Substance, Mikey Madison for Anora, Karla Sofía Gascón for Emilia Pérez and Fernanda Torres for I’m Still Here. Check out the full list of nominees.
However, the Baywatch alum had a different viewpoint, revealing her real thoughts about the snub in an interview with Elle published Thursday (January 23).
"Oh my gosh, it’s not something I ever expected," she said, adding that awards recognition wasn’t how she measured her own success. "Doing the work is the win."
Anderson admitting that she "couldn’t imagine [being nominated] anyway" and was instead proud to have played her part in making the film and bringing the story to life.
"That’s what I like to do and I think we can lose sight of that sometimes in this whole crazy awards season, but it’s nice to be recognized, and it’s all a bonus," she said.
Hosted by comedian Conan O’Brien, the 97th Academy Awards will take place at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood on Sunday, March 2, airing at 7 p.m. ET on ABC and Hulu.
