Donald Trump has launched a bigoted attack on migrants claiming they are predisposed to committing violent crimes because of “their genes” during an interview with Hugh Hewitt.
There are increasing concerns about Trump’s age and ability to serve a four-year term given his increasingly rambling and angry speeches. The 78-year-old former president’s gaffes and misstatements now occur to such a degree that they no longer appear to garner much attention.
Meanwhile, non-binary TV star Jonathan Van Ness says finding that they appear in a pro-Trump ad that attacks Kamala Harris is “surreal” and “upsetting”, warning their followers of the threat of “white nationalist christian politicians” to society.
Vice President Kamala Harris is continuing her media blitz this week, after touring storm-hit Georgia and North Carolina, and making an appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast, during which she attacked Trump’s running mate JD Vance over his notorious “childless cat ladies” comment.
The Democratic Party nominee will appear on 60 Minuteson Monday night, as well as ABC’s The View, Howard Stern’s radio show, and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Her running mate Tim Walz also visits Trump nemesis Jimmy Kimmel on Monday.
Turning Point’s representatives have made two things clear in meetings with state and local Republican leaders— Donald Trump has blessed their conservative organization to help lead his get-out-the-vote effort, and local party officials ought to use the group’s new voter mobilization app.
Both prospects terrify fellow Republicans.

“As we reflect on the horrors of October 7th, let us please be reminded that we cannot lose faith,” the vice president said in remarks outside her residence at Naval Observatory.

Jonathan Van Ness, co-host of Queer Eye, has said it is “surreal” to see themself in a Trump campaign TV ad attacking Kamala Harris and “they/them” pronouns, describing it as “unsettling”.
Van Ness came out as nonbinary in 2019 and is seen in the ad chatting with Harris.
A narrator says, “Crazy liberal Kamala is for they/them. President Trump is for you.”
Van Ness wrote on Instagram: “I saw myself in a Trump TV ad today and it’s… surreal. Kind of iconic, but mostly very unsettling.”
“In this commercial Trump vilifies immigrants, trans people, and queer people generally. History shows us that blaming specific groups of people and attempting to get a majority of society to view them as threat rather than humans is what can come just before an ultra conservative and or religious governments taking over their society.
“Don’t think that these white nationalist christian politicians aren’t a threat to you & Vote like that.”
They continued in the comments: “As a non binary person whenever I’m presented with a binary choice I’m immediately leery. 💁🏻😂 But in this election its really about moving forward in all the messy imperfection and trying to trust each other again, or its about going backwards to a time where women needed their husband or father’s permission to open a checking account and where segregation was also a matter of ‘states rights’ mixed in with an authoritarian dictator who has absolute immunity from the Supreme court. Please choose hope over fear. Faith over blame. Love y’all 🫶”

Elon Musk has taken the @America handle on X from a user to promote his PAC that is pushing to get Donald Trump elected in next month’s presidential race.
The billionaire, who appeared alongside Trump at the rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday, has changed his bio on X to direct followers to the account. “Read @America to understand why I’m supporting Trump for President,” it now reads.
The page was launched the same day Musk gave a speech at Trump’s rally on October 5.

In marking the first anniversary of the October 7 terrorist attack in Israel, Donald Trump was joined in New York today by conservative political commentator Ben Shapiro.
Shapiro tweeted: “October 7 was the greatest massacre of Jews since the Holocaust. It was an honor to join President Trump in NY today to pay our respects and remember the lives lost in the horrific terrorist attack one year ago today.
“I had the additional honor of being accompanied by Yael, Adi, and Roy Alexander whose son and brother, Edan, an American citizen, is still held captive by Hamas. Today and every day we pray for the swift return of all the hostages and a victory over those who sponsored and perpetrated October 7.”

Former President Donald Trump is claiming migrants are predisposed to committing violent crimes because of “their genes.”
Trump made the comments while speaking on The Hugh Hewitt Show on Monday, stating that of 13,000 migrants who have entered the US, several have murdered more than one person.
“It’s in their genes,” Trump told the show’s host. “And we got a lot of bad genes in our country right now.”
Michelle Del Rey has the story.
Critics were quick to call the comments ‘racist’
The Supreme Court said Monday it won’t hear an appeal from the social media platform X over a search warrant prosecutors obtained in the election-interference case against former President Donald Trump.
The justices did not explain their reasoning and there were no noted dissents.
The company, known as Twitter before it was purchased by billionaire Elon Musk, says a nondisclosure order that blocked it from telling Trump about the warrant obtained by special counsel Jack Smith’s team violated its First Amendment rights.
The company also argues Trump should have had a chance to exert executive privilege. If not reined in, the government could use similar tactics to invade other privileged communications, their lawyers argued.
Two nonpartisan electronic privacy groups also weighed in, encouraging the high court to take the case on First Amendment grounds.
Prosecutors, though, say the company never showed Trump had used the account for official purposes so executive privilege wouldn’t be an issue. A lower court also found that telling Trump could have jeopardized the ongoing investigation.
Trump used his Twitter account in the weeks leading up to his supporters’ attack on the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, to spread false statements about the election that prosecutors allege were designed to sow mistrust in the democratic process.
The indictment details how Trump used his Twitter account to encourage his followers to come to Washington on Jan. 6, pressured his Vice President Mike Pence to reject the certification and falsely suggested that the mob at the Capitol — which beat police officers and smashed windows — was peaceful.
That case is now inching forward after the Supreme Court’s ruling in July giving Trump broad immunity from criminal prosecution as a former president.
The warrant arrived at Twitter amid rapid changes instituted by Musk, who purchased the platform in 2022 and has since laid off much of its staff, including workers dedicated to ferreting out misinformation and hate speech.
He also welcomed back a long list of users who had been previously banned, including Trump, and endorsed him in the 2024 presidential race.
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean Pierre also went up against Peter Doocy of Fox News regarding funding for disaster relief. Here’s that exchange:
