The Golden Globes, which often sets the tone for the upcoming Hollywood award season, will commence shortly at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles. The 82nd Golden Globes Award will kick off with a groundbreaking milestone, featuring Nikki Glaser as its first-ever solo female host. Payal Kapadia’s ‘All We Imagine As Light,’ which won the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival, is nominated for Best Motion Picture – Non-English Language and Best Director – Motion Picture. She is the first Indian filmmaker to be nominated in this category in 26 years, after Shekhar Kapur.
The year also sees the record-breaking nomination of the Spanish-French musical crime film ‘Emilia Perez’ in ten categories in the Golden Globes history. In the television category, ‘The Bear,’ which has also won awards in the 2023 Golden Globes, has garnered five nominations.
This time, the honorees for lifetime achievements include Viola Davis, set to receive the Cecil B. DeMille Award, and Ted Danson, who will be honoured with the Carol Burnett Award. The presenters for the evening also include Andrew Garfield, Dwayne Johnson and Jennifer Coolidge, adding star power to the event.
‘Emilia Perez’ leads all contenders with 10 nods at the Golden Globes, which is followed by ‘The Brutalist’ with seven and ‘Conclave’ at six. Here are the list of nominees from the key categories.
