There's only one way to know that a new award season has just begun: The 2025 Golden Globes!
The annual ceremony—the first of many to come this year—kicked off Sunday, Jan. 5., where the Hollywood Foreign Press Association honored the year's most critically acclaimed films, TV shows and actors.
While the live telecast from The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles has only just begun, two veteran stars are already major winners. The annual Cecil B. deMille Award will be presented to Viola Davis during this year's show while Ted Danson will receive the Carol Burnett Award for Lifetime Achievement in Television.
As for other famous faces you can expect to see inside the gala, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, Timothée Chalamet, Zoe Saldaña, Cynthia Erivo and Denzel Washington are all up for major awards for their film performances while television's buzziest actors, including Quinta Brunson, Ayo Edebiri, Steve Martin and Jeremy Allen White, all have a chance at taking home a trophy as well. Plus, hits like Wicked, Dune: Part 2, The Bear, Baby Reindeer and Only Murders in the Building also received recognition in major categories
And while the Golden Globes are famous for being quite the party, there's no doubt this year's bash will be more outrageous than ever. That's because Nikki Glaser is taking over the hosting duties to put Hollywood's biggest stars on blast.
But as a self-professed C-lister, the F Boy Island host has a plan for how to warm up the A-list audience.
"I have to be a little softer and more self-deprecating,” Glaser told Entertainment Weekly last month. “Because I’m not as well-known, I can’t just come out swinging. They’ll be like, ‘Who is this lady and why does she think she has a right to talk to us this way?’ I can’t come in with the same annihilating venom as I did at the Tom Brady roast. With status comes the ability to punch harder.”
