General Motors Co. has appointed Ian Hucker as the new leader of its fleet business in North America, known as GM Envolve, the automaker said Monday.
Hucker, 55, most recently was chief commercial officer for Hyundai Capital Europe and was also previously an executive with Lynk & Co., the premium brand owned by Chinese firm Geely Group. He also has past experience at GM, including in senior sales positions.
The previous head of GM Envolve in the region was Sandor Piszar, who retired at the start of the year after taking the position in mid-2023.
Hucker’s “expertise in strategy development and transformation will help GM Envolve continue to grow and deliver value to our customers through a winning product portfolio, advanced telematics, and digital fleet management tools,” Duncan Aldred, vice president of global commercial growth strategies and operations at GM, said in a statement.
The automaker created the Envolve business unit in spring 2023, and it includes both the company’s fleet vehicles as well as other technologies and services that pair with them. It competes with similar commercial divisions that other automakers have set up in recent years, such as Ford Pro and Stellantis Pro One.
