One of Fox News Channel’s original hosts is leaving the network after 28 years.
Neil Cavuto, who has hosted the afternoon program Your World on Fox News since the channel launched in 1996, is leaving the network. He has also hosted Cavuto: Coast to Coast on Fox Business Network.
“Neil Cavuto’s illustrious career has been a master class in journalism and we’re extremely proud of his incredible 28-year run with Fox News Media,” a Fox News spokesperson said in a statement. “His programs have defined business news and set the standard for the entire industry. We wish him a heartfelt farewell and all the best on his next chapter.”

Cavuto has been a staple of Fox’s lineup, and over the years had added responsibilities including as senior VP and managing editor of business news for both Fox News and Fox Business Network. At FBN Cavuto also hosted special event coverage, including election nights.
A former CNBC anchor (he hosted the channel’s Market Wrap for years) and NBC News contributor, Cavuto spent much of his career as one of the most high-profile business journalists in the country, at PBS’ Nightly Business Report, Investment Age, and other outlets.
He has also been willing to be outspoken on issues that he cares about. The anchor is a cancer survivor and has multiple sclerosis, and faced blowback from some viewers when he urged them to get the COVID-19 vaccine.
He has also criticized President-elect Donald Trump over the years, occasionally facing attacks from Trump himself as well as fans that are also loyal Fox viewers.
Cavuto’s exit means that the number of original Fox news stars continues to shrink. Primetime host Sean Hannity is one, as is Fox & Friends host Steve Doocy. Brit Hume, a Fox contributor and former anchor, is another.
