TOWN OF CEDARBURG — Flying Fur is looking at a new home in the town of Cedarburg.
The Cedarburg Town Board recently approved a conditional use permit application by CSH Building LLC & Bone Bed LLC (Flying Fur) to operate a dog daycare, short-term boarding and grooming business at 1170 Wauwatosa Road. In order to do so, the Town Board agreed to amend the Zoning Code to allow professional dog care services such as dog daycare, short-term boarding and grooming as conditional uses in the B-3 Business Zoning District.
Flying Fur, a dog care business, which currently resides at N28W5901 Lincoln Blvd., opened in Cedarburg in 2010. The business was purchased by Madeline Robb and Kyle Dunfee in October of 2023.

“We look forward to continuing to provide our customers with outstanding service and care for their much-loved dogs,” Robb said in a letter to town officials. “We know that this location will give us that opportunity.”
The applicant is proposing to occupy the northwest corner of a 32,000square-foot building, according to the agenda information given to the Town Board. The property is subject to a conditional use permit to allow manufacturers’ representative offices and distribution companies. The building was previously occupied by Frank Rasmussen as Custom Service Hardware.
The Town Board granted a conditional use permit amendment for the operation of Miss Molly’s, a business that provides food catering, baking, food preparation, food assembly, and distribution on and offsite.
Flying Fur will operate a dog daycare, short-term boarding and grooming services. There will be boarding available for up to 15 dogs a day. Related products will be sold as part of the business operations.
Flying Fur will also provide an outdoor area that is fenced from view, which will be limited to the cove just east of the tenant space, according to the agenda information. The outdoor space will always be monitored by staff when animals are outside.
The operation will not require any changes to the exterior of the building (other than the fenced area in the cove), lighting, or parking, the agenda information states. The applicant will be modifying the interior of the building to accommodate the business.
There was no public comment at the Town Board public hearing regarding the amendment to the zoning code.
