ILLINOIS — After 40 years, a fast-food chain is coming back to Chicagoland, and a major hospital group is planning a massive expansion.
Plus, the owner of a beloved local business is closing up shop — but has big plans for the future, while a dispensary has shuttered after just one year.
Here’s a look at some of Illinois Patch’s recent top business stories:
It’s been more than 40 years since the chain last operated in the Chicago area — and now they hope to open 125 Illinois locations.
The winery’s newest location is under construction now.
The new businesses will join a Costco, Olive Garden, Auntie Anne’s, Cooper’s Hawk and more.
City officials said the project is in the second phase of construction and the store is set to open this spring.
The owner hinted several weeks ago on social media that a major change was coming in regard to his restaurant future. It turns out, that after one full year of reinventing his business at its current location, major change is on the horizon in 2025.
The dispensary initially opened in December 2023 and has permanently closed.
The new business would occupy a new 20,312-square-foot, two-story space with a patio that has at least one fire pit. The first floor would feature a dining room and a “large bar,” per village documents. On the second floor, customers can play darts, billiards and other games.
The hospital has seen a big increase in inpatient days over the last six years.
