The North Collins basketball team did not have the best season in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 2 East, but star senior Derek Ebersole was deemed to have the best individual season claiming league Player of the Year honors.
Ebersole paced the Eagles with 24.5 points, 4.6 steals, 4.4 rebounds and 4 assists per game. The only other North Collins player recognized was Derek’s brother, Walter Ebersole, who received an Honorable Mention.
Franklinville finished atop the league standings and junior Bretton Blecha received a First-Team selection after averaging 10.6 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.2 steals per game. Panthers head coach Scott Shenk was also tabbed as the league’s Coach of the Year.
Franklinville added junior Matthew Spittler and senior Noah Shenk to the Second Team, while Beau Bielecki received an Honorable Mention.
Ellicottville finished second and had a pair of players earn First-Team selections in senior Owen Chudy and freshman Blake Smith. Chudy averaged 16.8 points, 12.2 rebounds, 1.8 steals and 1.5 assists per game, while Smith averaged 10.7 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.3 steals and 1.9 assists.

Senior William Benatovich and junior Carter Smith represented Ellicottville on the Second Team.
Pine Valley finished the league season in third place, but ended the year with the Section VI Class D title. A pair of Panthers rounded out the league First Team in junior Miles Volk scoring 13.9 points per game to go along with 9.1 rebounds, 4 steals, 2.7 assists and 1.8 blocks, and senior Jon Sheldon posted 15.1 points, 8.7 rebounds, 4 steals, 2.2 assists and 1.1 blocks per game.
Pine Valley senior Nick Seabolt rounded out the league’s Second Team.
Receiving Honorable Mention was Forestville’s Jackson Rebbmann and Jacob Anders, Cattaraugus-Little Valley’s DJ Szata and West Valley’s Jadon Schoepflin.
The Team Sportsmanship Award went to Cattaraugus-Little Valley, while Timberwolves sophomore Grady Merrill received the league’s Individual Sportsmanship Award.
