JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville’s biggest Cinco de Mayo celebration is happening Sunday.
The Duval De Mayo festival will be held at the Riverwalk Artist Square located on the Riverfront under the Fuller Warren Bridge.
News4JAX sat down with founder Charles Wagoner to talk about all the excitement.
“We’ve been doing this for five years now, we’ve been putting on events here in Jacksonville. We love tacos and tequila. We’ve put on the largest Taco and Tequila festival really in the state and we wanted to host an event on Cinco De Mayo,” Wagoner said. “We’ll have over 80 different types of tequila.”
People attending will get more than just tequila.

This year’s festival will also feature live entertainment, over 25 taco makers, live muralists, salsa dancing lessons and fireworks.
“We’re expecting between 5,000 to 7,000 people throughout the day. The gates open at noon through 10 pm,” Wagoner said.
Security and safety are top priority.
Wagoner is working with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and a private security company to monitor crowds and keep everything under control.
This event is also for a good cause.
“The event is produced by the Wagoner foundation, my family’s foundation. Every festival, we pick a charity of choice to give back all the proceeds to and this year we decided to pick Walk-Off Charities. They are a Duval County nonprofit that teaches young children and young adults how to play baseball,” Wagoner said.
A full day of food, fun, and a little tequila — all for a good cause.
